Understanding your customers

Understand what really matters to your customers.

We look at what your visitors are after, where they hesitate and what makes them give up. You leave with ranked priorities, not a hundred-page report.

Analysis of how visitors move through a website

Where you are

People discover you. You do not know what they are after.

  • You have visitors, but very few write to you.
  • You cannot tell which page convinces them, nor which makes them leave.
  • You are torn between three messages, with no way to settle it.
  • People tell you your offer is unclear, without saying why.
  • You are about to rebuild your site, without knowing what needs changing.
  • You have an analytics tool, but you get nothing out of it.

Rebuilding a site without knowing what is blocking is changing the answer without having understood the question. This work is about understanding the question — and sometimes it shows a rebuild was not needed.

What changes

What you gain by looking before acting.

You know what to fix first

A list ranked by expected effect, rather than an urge to redo everything at once.

You stop guessing

What your visitors do is measurable. What you imagine they do is less so.

Your message sharpens

The words your customers use beat the ones from your trade.

You may save a rebuild

It happens that three fixes are enough where everything was going to be redone.

Internal debates get settled

When two opinions clash in-house, a measurement puts everyone on the same page.

You can measure afterwards

A written starting point lets you know whether what you change does anything.

What we do

What we look at, and where the information comes from.

Nothing is invented. Every finding rests on a source we name — and when information is missing, we say so rather than assume it.

What your visitors do

The pages that hold
Where they stay, where they leave, and on which device.
Interrupted journeys
At which step they abandon a form or an order.
What they search for on your site
Internal searches, where they exist: that is what they cannot find.
Where they arrive from
Search, social, direct link: each origin brings a different frame of mind.

What they look for before you

The real searches
The words typed into Google for a need like yours.
The recurring questions
What people ask you on the phone is what the site does not say clearly enough.
What your competitors say
Where they are clear and you are not — the gap is often instructive.
The objections
Price, timing, trust: what makes people hesitate before writing.

What you get back

Ranked priorities
By expected effect and by effort, so you know where to start.
A reworded message
Concrete suggestions for headings and openings, not principles.
A corrected journey
What to move, remove or add, page by page.
A measured starting point
Today's figures, so you can compare in three months.

How we work

We separate what we know from what we assume.

A finding drawn from a measurement and a hypothesis drawn from experience are not equal. We distinguish them in the report, so you know what you are spending your budget on.

Findings sorted by source and reliability

Before / after

From a clash of opinions to a list of priorities.

The change shows first in meetings: endless debates about the message give way to decisions you can justify.

Conflicting opinions replaced by ranked priorities

What you receive

What is handed over, and what you do with it.

A document readable by you, not by a specialist. The detail is in the quote.

The debrief session
The debrief session
  • A report written in plain language, with the source of every finding
  • Priorities ranked by expected effect and by effort required
  • Concrete suggestions for headings, openings and button wording
  • Journey corrections, page by page, with what is expected of each
  • A reading of your current situation, so you can compare later
  • An explicit distinction between what is measured and what is assumed
  • A debrief session where you ask your questions, recorded
  • Measurement tools installed or corrected, on your own accounts

Interviews with your customers, putting the recommendations in place and ongoing follow-up are quoted separately: they are distinct pieces of work we only suggest when useful.

How it goes

Four steps, and what we need from you at each one.

  1. 01GatherWe collect what exists: analytics, questions received, customer feedback. You give us access to your tools.
  2. 02ObserveWe look at what your visitors do, and what people with your customers' need are searching for.
  3. 03Report backWe present the findings and the priorities. You correct anything that does not match what you see on the ground.
  4. 04DecideYou choose where to start. We say what each piece of work requires, and whether we are the right people for it.

Our work

This work often precedes the projects that succeed.

The sites we deliver start from an understanding of what their visitors are after. It shows in the result.

Thanks to Mitch, not only is he a true pro in his field, but he also understands what we want to achieve and why things aren't working... the functionality of my site is fantastic! It's nothing like my old site... I recommend Mitch without hesitation. A huge thank you!

  • bernard duboisAugust 2026

What can I say? An exceptional experience! I didn't think it was possible to create such a simple, clear, and user-friendly website, especially for the administrators. And above all, a huge thank you to the programmer who was able to adapt to my needs and accommodate all my requests for modifications. Truly bespoke. Incredible. Quite frankly, I've worked with developers on more than five application projects, and they all sold ready-made solutions that they then customized. Here, I feel like my every need was truly listened to, and I got THE website I need. A big thank you. My next projects will definitely be with Shavod!

  • Thaïs CammasAugust 2025

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Shavod on my art website. I create paintings and wanted to display them in an online gallery (thais.com). I knew he did good work, but I was truly amazed by the result. He did a fantastic job with the colors. The project was completed in less than a month. Shavod is always easy to communicate with. He listens very carefully to the client, which gave me a great sense of freedom. He's very open-minded, and the possibilities are almost limitless. I highly recommend him.

Budget and timing

What pushes a quote up or down.

What weighs: how much information already exists — a site with no measurement tool means waiting before concluding anything — the number of journeys to examine, and whether customer interviews are included. Those interviews cost more and take longer, but they give what no statistic can: the reasons. We tell you whether they are worth it in your case.

Our commitments

What you can count on.

  • Every finding states its source: measurement, interview, or hypothesis
  • No imagined customer profile is presented as research carried out with real people
  • The report is written for you, not to impress
  • Measurement tools are installed on your accounts, in your name
  • We tell you when a recommendation goes beyond what we can do
  • No conversion gain is quantified in advance: too many factors sit outside the site

Frequently asked

What people ask before getting started.

  • Differently. With no history, we cannot observe what your visitors do — there are not enough of them yet. What we can do is look at what people with your customers' need are searching for, and how your competitors answer. It is less precise, but it stops you building a site around a message nobody is waiting for.

  • Below a certain volume, statistics mean nothing: ten visits allow no conclusions. In that case we lean more on what is being searched in your field and on the questions you already receive. We say so upfront rather than charging you for an analysis that could assert nothing.

  • Three things, ideally. Access to your analytics if you have any. The questions your customers ask by phone or email — often the richest source. And a conversation with whoever answers the phone at your end: they know things the figures do not say.

  • The report includes concrete suggestions: reworded headings, page-by-page fixes, the order to tackle them in. Putting them in place is a separate service — whether by us or by someone else. We tell you plainly when a recommendation goes beyond what we can do.

  • A redesign changes the site. This work is about finding out what needs changing. The two often follow each other, but in that order: starting with the redesign risks repeating the same mistakes more attractively. It also happens that the analysis concludes three fixes are enough.

  • Only if it is in the quote, because it takes time and your help to reach them. Where possible it is the most useful source: figures say where people leave, interviews say why. Without interviews we flag it in the report — the reasons then become hypotheses, and are presented as such.

  • It depends mostly on what information is available. With analytics already in place, the work is quick. With no measurement tool, one has to be installed and a few weeks allowed to pass before anything can be observed — we say so beforehand, so the schedule is realistic.

  • It happens, and it is often a sign the work was worth doing. We do not change a finding because it is uncomfortable. The debrief is there for that, though: you know your trade, and your corrections from the field go into the final report when they put a measurement back in context.

Tell us what puzzles you about your visitors.

A first thirty-minute conversation, no commitment. We look together at whether the available information can support anything useful.
